Probably a very sleak, tiny minimalistic "trike" (composite.carbon&kevlar), with retractable main landing gear and two electric motors with foldable propellers at the back on two horizontal pylons, that are commonly used in larger RC models. These days, if I wanted to build something for my Hang Glider, I would turn towards electric power. I even publish plans in one of UL magazines and couple of builders build them for theirself. There are some lightweight trikes for hang gliders which in my opinion are better if you intend to use power all the time. In theory you can take off from a flat field, and fly under power until you hit a thermal and then turn the engine off and fly like a hang glider but in reality I think few actually do. Also, I once got the throttle lever tangled on a side wire of the hang glider which locked me in a turn - very unpleasant but i did manage to untangle myself in time! I had the earlier version of the Mosquito and didn't like it much - too noisy - I lost the beauty of hang gliding. you need to be quite fit for the take off run. self maintenance.ĭisadvantages: you need to learn to hang glide first. breaks down to a small package - same for the hang glider.
